English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Description

  • Classes are free
  • Classes are offered at the Downtown Library, 500 Main Street.
  • 3-Cycles are offered a year: fall, spring and summer.
  • Classes are primarily for beginner levels.
  • Weekday classes meet 3 days a week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday classes meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Classes are open to students ages seventeen and over

 

REGISTRATION

In-person registration is required. During registration, the student will take a test to determine their level of English. No student should enter a class without registering first. Once classes begin, we will continue to accept registration based on space availability. Late applicants must register in person on the 2nd floor, The American Place. Please bring a photo ID or a piece of mailing with your name and address to register.

Class space is limited. If a class is filled, the library can provide online self-study materials and other options.
