In-Person English Classes
Our in-person classes are for Beginner and Intermediate levels only. Classes run from September to June in two 20-week cycles; new cycles start in September, and February. Classes are for adults 18 and older.
Students 16 to 18 years old may join the After-School English Academy directed by mbrophy@hplct.org.
CLASSES BEGIN
September 19, 2023 and end February 10, 2024 on Weekdays and Weekends.
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. (Childcare available)
Saturday classes are from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Registration and testing required
REGISTRATION
Space is limited.
Registration and testing begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and takes approximately 3 hours. Please bring a Photo ID and proof of current address. All migrants are welcome. We do not ask about your immigration status.

LOCATION
The Downtown Hartford Public Library, on 500 Main Street, Hartford.
The 500 Main St. entrance is CLOSED. Please enter through the side entrance located on Arch Street.
PARKING
Parking is available on the street and behind the library on Arch Street.
Street parking is free from 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
All other times $1.00 -$2.00 an hour.
