English as a Second Language (ESL)
The American Place offers free, in-person ESL classes as well as online courses. Students improve their English skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Teachers use a variety of activities, including online programs. Visits to local historic and civic institutions are arranged to provide students the opportunity to learn more about American history and culture. Additional job training is provided for those students seeking employment.
