In-Person Assistance

American Job Centers (AJCs) provide free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment related needs. AJCs have experienced career counselors on staff that work with job seekers to identify their interests, assess their skills and abilities and advise them on in-demand jobs and potential training opportunities. They will assist job seekers with building a resume and job search.

An American Job Center satellite is located at Hartford Public Library Downtown, 500 Main Street, Hartford, open 9-5 Monday – Friday. For a full listing of American Job Center locations in our region and hours click HERE

On-Line Resources

CT Hires

Job seekers are encouraged to register with CTHires. The CT Hires registration is also available in Spanish.   

This on-line tool allows job seekers to build a personal profile that matches the job seekers skills with related occupations. After registering with CTHires job seekers receive related job opportunities in their inbox. CTHires also offers templates for building a resume and cover letter; announcements for upcoming recruitment events, job fairs, and workshops; career exploration tool; labor market analysis and employment patterns; and, so much more.
